"Hongyang, tidy up. Let's close early and rest today!" After sending off the last patient, Xiao Yu saw that there were no other patients in the store temporarily and said to Xiao Hongyang.
There were indeed many sick people today, and Erxi and others hardly had any rest throughout the day. And at this point of time, there would rarely be any patients coming here, so Xiao Yu let them close early and rest earlier.
After Xiao Yu and Xiao Hongyang finished tidying up the tables, the two women at the counter had already settled the money and brought it over.
"Master, let me introduce you. This is our cashier, Zhang Hui, and this is our accountant and cashier, Li Qing!"
Seeing the two women come over, Xiao Hongyang pointed to each of them and introduced them to Xiao Yu.
"This is Xiao Yu, Doctor Xiao, also the boss here!" Then Xiao Hongyang pointed at Xiao Yu and introduced him to both of them.
After finishing the introductions, Xiao Yu greeted both women and said, "You all have worked hard these days. Let's clean up a bit and go out for dinner tonight. It will be a welcome meal for Zhang Hui, Li Qing, and Yuan Chao."
Hearing that Xiao Yu was treating them to a meal, the young people immediately cheered. Why wouldn't they be happy if their boss treated them to a meal
Xiao Yu drove them to a hot pot restaurant. On the way in the car, he had asked for their opinions. He and Xiao Hongyang didn’t care either way, but Erxi and others all wanted to eat hot pot. Although it wasn't that cold in southern China, compared to other places, if someone lived there all year round, this winter was already very cold, so they were all thinking of eating hot pot to warm up.
Hearing their preference for hot pot, Xiao Yu naturally had no objections and took them to a Sichuan-style hot pot restaurant.
This meal lasted over an hour. They ate until beads of sweat appeared on their foreheads and they all exclaimed how satisfying it was.
After the meal, Xiao Yu sent them back. Yuan Chao lived at the store, while Zhang Hui and Li Qing also lived in a nearby neighborhood to Wan Sheng Hall. Erxi's family had moved out of that trash heap and found a house near here to live in.
So Xiao Yu took them all to Wan Sheng Hall. Standing outside of Wan Sheng Hall, he watched Zhang Hui and Li Qing enter the nearby neighborhood before turning back into Wan Sheng Hall to fetch his luggage.
Upon reaching home, Xiao Yu drove in and placed his belongings before heading down to the basement. As soon as he entered the basement, a white figure darted out from under Xiao Yu’s shirt like lightning, hopping onto the ground.
This white figure was actually Xiao Yu's little white mouse. Back when he was in Beijing, Xiao Yu had named it Little White. Upon landing on the ground, this mouse ‘Little White’ behaved as if it hadn't eaten for days, its nostrils flaring and eyes glazing over. It lay prostrate on the basement floor, breathing in the Yin energy.
Right when Xiao Yu steadied himself upon entering the basement, black smoke began to billow out from an oil-paper umbrella atop a large coffin placed at the center of the basement, forming dark clouds in midair.
The moment this black cloud emerged from under the oil-paper umbrella on the coffin, Little White’s fur suddenly bristled. Despite its small face, it showed signs of anxiety, retreating and carefully observing those floating dark clouds.
If one listened closely, they could hear a series of growling sounds emanating from inside Little White's throat, akin to the roar of an enraged beast.
"Little White, stay still! These are all comrades!" Xiao Yu said this as he waved at the little mouse on the ground.
This little mouse seemed to understand what Xiao Yu had said. It looked up at Xiao Yu and then gazed warily at the dark clouds floating in the air before darting onto Xiao Yu's shoulder. Although it did not attack, its tense demeanor remained evident.
Clearly, these dark clouds posed a significant threat to it, hinting at an underlying danger.
The dark clouds gradually transformed into human forms and floated above ground, revealing the Earth Ghost, Water Ghost, ghost soldiers, and the female ghost in white.
"Senior Exorcist, you've returned..." Upon seeing Xiao Yu standing by the grave entrance, these spirits showed signs of joy as they said this.
“Mm, I’m back. How are all of you Is everything alright” When Xiao Yu heard their voices, he looked at them and asked.
"Thank you for your concern, Senior Exorcist; we’re fine, and our training has been going smoothly!" The Earth Ghost bowed deeply to Xiao Yu as it expressed its gratitude.
After speaking, the spirits cautiously observed the little white mouse on Xiao Yu’s shoulder. When they first came out, they sensed the presence of this small mouse. Although the mouse was still relatively weak now, they could sense a deadly threat emanating from it.
Seeing that the Earth Ghost and others were looking at Little White on his shoulder, Xiao Yu smiled slightly and said, "Earth Ghost, Water Ghost, you two must get along well in the future. This is Little White, the offspring of Soul-eating Ferret!" He then turned to the little mouse on his shoulder: "Little White, be nice and don’t fight!"
The little white mouse tilted its head to glance at Xiao Yu after hearing his words, then looked at Tu Gui and Shui Gui before nodding.
When Xiao Yu was in the capital city, he discovered that this soul-devouring mouse had developed a bit of consciousness. It could understand simple sentences, especially those from Xiao Yu, to whom it showed obvious attachment.
Tu Gui and Shui Gui were stunned when they heard Xiao Yu say that this little white mouse was actually the offspring of a soul-devouring marten. They knew that the soul-devouring martens were their nemeses; they didn’t expect there to be such an offspring still around, let alone one with a different appearance.
Instantly, they thought about crossbreeding as a possibility. However, they had no idea how much of the soul-devouring marten’s abilities this creature inherited The soul-devouring marten they had seen back then was incredibly formidable; if not for their five ghosts being one entity, that soul-devouring marten might have devoured them.
"Little White, you will stay here to cultivate and are not allowed to bully them!" Xiao Yu pointed at the ghost soldiers and officers while speaking to the soul-devouring mouse on his shoulder.
"Squeak squeak..." The soul-devouring mouse on Xiao Yu’s shoulder chirped twice in response, taking it as an agreement.
“Go then!” Upon seeing the soul-devouring mouse’s reaction, Xiao Yu nodded and said.
The moment his words were out, the soul-devouring mouse leaped off his shoulder straight into the coffin. That was where all the malevolent energy gathered; it naturally preferred this place.
As this soul-devouring mouse was still in its infant stage and needed a large amount of pure Yin or malicious energy to grow, these things were also delicious for them, thus they would seek out the source of malevolent energy.
"Alright, you should go cultivate too!" Xiao Yu said to Tu Gui and the rest.
“Yes! Grandmaster Heavenly Master!” Upon hearing Xiao Yu's words, Tu Gui, Shui Gui, and the others respectfully paid their respects to him and then turned into black clouds entering the Yin-attracting umbrella.
Xiao Yu sat down in a cross-legged position after they had left, continuing his cultivation. His physical strength was now on par with that of the Yin souls, so he could continue cultivating.
The next day at five o'clock in the morning, Xiao Yu woke up from meditation. He scanned around the tomb chamber; last night, he sensed that the soul-devouring mouse had climbed out of the coffin, and now it was unknown where it had gone.
Suddenly, a white spot caught his eye in one corner of the tomb chamber, lying motionless on the ground. Xiao Yu’s heart jumped, and he hurried over to find that the soul-devouring mouse was fast asleep there. He let out a long sigh of relief.
Xiao Yu prodded the Soul-devouring Mouse, but found it sleeping very soundly and hardly moving at all. Xiao Yu thought about it for a moment and realized what was happening; the Soul-devouring Mouse had absorbed a large amount of Yin煞qi last night and was now digesting it. With this realization, Xiao Yu no longer bothered with it and stood up to walk out.
After coming out from the basement, Xiao Yu practiced the Five Animal Frolics in the courtyard. Now he realized that as long as his identity as a Qimen cultivator remained secret, the Five Animal Frolics could be his trump card.
When it was just dawn, Xiao Yu stopped practicing and returned to his room. After taking a hot shower in the bedroom, he drove out of the villa.
"Doctor Xiao, have you come back" When Xiao Yu's car passed by Jin Xianglin’s house, Jin Xianglin had just left his home. Seeing Xiao Yu's car pass by, Jin Xianglin stopped it and said to him.
“Yes, I came back yesterday. Mr. Jin, are you going out” When Xiao Yu heard what Jin Xianglin said, he looked at the man who was about to leave.
"Yes, there's a problem with my company in Taiwan, so I'm going over!" Jin Xianglin revealed a smile and replied.
“Hmm……” Suddenly, while looking at Jin Xianglin, Xiao Yu froze for a moment before emitting an exclamation of surprise. He then frowned.
"Mr. Jin, wait a minute, I'll go get something!" Xiao Yu said to Jin Xianglin with a slightly furrowed brow.
Xiao Yu didn’t reverse the car; he got out and ran quickly towards his house. After not much time had passed, Xiao Yu returned.
"Mr. Jin, keep this item close to you at all times. On your trip to Taiwan, make sure to bring along more bodyguards! Be careful on the road!" With a folded yellow paper in hand, Xiao Yu handed it to Jin Xianglin and said after returning.
“What’s wrong Master Xiao, is there something wrong with my visit to Taiwan” Hearing Xiao Yu's words, Jin Xianglin froze before his face turned serious. Seeing how Xiao Yu spoke so clearly indicated that he knew of an issue, thus he asked anxiously.
Knowing Xiao Yu’s identity, Jin Xianglin no longer referred to him as a doctor but rather called him Master.
Xiao Yu shook his head and said: "There are many things I cannot reveal. If I were to speak of them, it would only cause greater issues. You can only watch your back. All I can tell you is that there might be bloodshed during this trip!"
