Xiao Yu also followed them out of the Wu family residence and headed toward the helicopter.

The old man only knew roughly which direction Baiyuntong was in due to his physical condition, preventing him from visiting it. Thus, they asked Baisan for guidance.

The helicopter journeyed westward, circling several mountain peaks before passing through a small town-like area and coming to rest at the foot of a small hill. At the bottom of this hill was an average-sized town.

Xiao Yu’s helicopter landed in a field outside of the town.

When Xiao Yu and his group got off the helicopter, they saw the small mountain ahead; that Taoist temple was at its peak. Just now, Xiao Yu had seen this small temple from the aircraft.

Saying it’s a small Taoist temple is actually somewhat exaggerated—it only has four or five rooms, akin to a rural courtyard house.

Old Li asked Baiqiyue, Baisan, Wu, Xiao Yu, and Zhang Dahai to stay on the helicopter. They would go by themselves; in their view, if the other party was more formidable than these old timers, they wouldn’t be hiding deep in the mountains.

However, after hearing this from Old Li, Wu firmly opposed it. This matter he must attend himself—his ancestor, a schemer, had been outwitted once, and he felt extremely unwilling to accept that defeat; therefore, he absolutely needed to go.

In the end, Li Suijun agreed with Wu’s request. Although Wu hadn’t fully recovered yet, his movements were completely unrestricted. Even though he was missing an arm and a leg, his crutch combined with his extraordinary strength meant this small hill posed no challenge for him at all.

Li Suijun didn’t have Xiao Yu go with them—Xiao Yu’s abilities weren't that impressive in their eyes, especially since they had the mysterious golden needle. Plus, there was no need for so many people to accompany him; back then Wu had a single person beat him up thoroughly, and now they were several strong individuals.

Wu's strength hadn’t grown much due to his injuries over these years, but Old Li’s group had different circumstances. Their current abilities far surpassed Wu’s, so they didn’t worry about the other individual at all.

The mountain wasn’t particularly high, but it was still several hundred meters tall. The elders like Li Suijun also didn’t bother finding a path up, instead directly sprinting upward from the foot of the hill. With thick snow covering the ground, they fearlessly ran across the snow-covered terrain.

Due to Master Wu's physical discomfort, two people had been supporting him. With a foot of snow on the ground, they sprinted up the mountain, leaving only a two-centimeter footprint behind.

"I need some rest; please don’t disturb me," Xiao Yu said to Bai Qiyue and Zhang Dahan before closing his eyes and lying down to recuperate.

When Zhang Dahan heard this, he felt awkward. Since Xiao Yu had not yet fully recovered, they had pulled him along anyway. Thus, after Xiao Yu spoke, Zhang Dahan sat beside Xiao Yu silently guarding him.

The moment Xiao Yu closed his eyes and sat down, his shade instantly left his body and passed through the plane's ceiling, floating into mid-air.

Xiao Yu drifted towards the black mist that he had sealed with talismans. When he approached it, he gently waved his hands, causing golden glints to flash on his fingertips.

"Bang..." As Xiao Yu moved his fingers, the talisman sealing the black mist disintegrated.

After the talisman vanished, the black mist shot towards the mountain peak. Xiao Yu's shade followed closely behind it, also heading for the peak.

Xiao Yu’s speed was much faster than Li Suijun’s group. Therefore, even though he left later, he arrived almost simultaneously with them. If not for following that black mist, Xiao Yu would have reached the peak within a few breaths by himself.

When this mass of black mist arrived at the Daoist temple on top of the mountain, it darted into an annex room and vanished.

After reaching the summit, Li Suijun’s group leaped to the rooftop shouting, "People inside, come out for a meeting!"

Their voices echoed like rumbling thunder over the vast mountain peak.

In one of the rooms, a middle-aged man around fifty was sitting cross-legged on an earthen bed. His face had a smug smile and he held a cloth doll with several bamboo sticks stuck into it. A mass of black mist hovered in mid-air beside him.

Upon seeing this black mist, the man pulled out the bamboo sticks from the doll. When he did so, another small mass of black mist emerged from it.

The black mist that emerged from the doll seemed to be attracted by a larger mass of black mist floating in mid-air, quickly moving towards it. Soon, the two masses of black mist merged into one.

Seeing this, the man pulled out a porcelain jar from behind him and used his right index and middle fingers to hold a talisman while forming a hand sign. He started chanting an incantation under his breath.

The porcelain jar appeared to generate suction, drawing the black mist towards it.

The black mist seemed conscious of its surroundings and was reluctant to enter the jar, attempting to escape the suction's pull. However, the suction was too powerful for the mist to resist, so soon enough, the mist was sucked into the porcelain jar.

Upon seeing the black mist enter the jar, the middle-aged man picked up a lid from the side and sealed the jar. He then pasted the talisman he had been holding onto the jar's lid.

No sooner did he seal the jar than there was a loud rumbling voice outside.

Hearing this thunderous sound, the middle-aged man paled and looked around frantically but found no way out. Clenching his teeth, he descended from wherever he was and walked towards the exit.

Lao Li and his companions were on the roof, observing the annex where the man was. They could sense that someone was inside the room, so they weren’t worried about him escaping; their numbers would ensure that this person wouldn't get away if that happened.

Suddenly, Li Suijun, who was standing on the rooftop, raised his head to look into the sky. Seeing nothing but empty space in mid-air, he looked puzzled and kept glancing upwards.

Earlier, his soul had experienced a sensation of dread again, identical to what he felt at Lao Wu’s house.

But seeing an empty sky left him confused; was this just an illusion It shouldn’t be! He could feel the presence moving closer from afar.

Xiao Yu's shade was hovering in mid-air, observing everything below. Now that he couldn't sense the aura of death anymore, he intended to look down when he suddenly felt a gaze directed at him.

Xiao Yu looked down and saw Li Suijun looking up at him, causing his heart to skip a beat; could Li Suijun see his shade

However, Xiao Yu noticed the confusion on Li Sujun's face and paused to think for a moment before moving to the other side. As soon as Xiao Yu moved to the other side, Li Sujun's gaze followed him, but his expression became even more puzzled.

Xiao Yu thought for a moment and then reined in the aura brought by his yin soul. After doing so, he once again flickered into position above Li Sujun.

This time, Li Sujun's gaze didn't follow Xiao Yu's yin soul as it moved; instead, he stood there blankly.

The heart-stopping aura that he had sensed just moments ago instantly vanished, and no matter how hard he tried to sense it again, he couldn’t. Could this be an illusion At this moment, even Li Sujun wasn't sure if what he felt was real or not.

He hadn’t dismissed the possibility of encountering practitioners of Qimen (a type of mysticism), but he had met plenty of such people before and none of them gave him that feeling. He even knew from these practitioners about ghosts and spirits, and some had helped him open his heavenly eye to see entities.

Furthermore, those practitioners had told him that no ghost or spirit could approach him. They had tested this by using the ghosts they raised; not only did they dare not get close to him, but when forced to do so, they were completely dispersed by the vitality and blood qi emanating from his body.

"Who are you What business brings you to my Daoist temple" Just as Li Sujun was lost in thought, a voice suddenly rang out from within the courtyard.

“Heh heh... Kid, do you still recognize me” Seeing who stood in the courtyard, Old Wu sneered and spoke.

Hearing Old Wu’s voice, this middle-aged man turned to look at him. When he saw Old Wu standing there, his entire body stiffened as he stared in shock and disbelief, exclaiming, "You... you're not dead..."

Upon hearing these words from the rooftop, Li Sujun and the others immediately understood that this man was responsible for what had happened to Old Wu. As such, after his outburst, they all leaped down together.

"Indeed it's you!" said Old Wu coldly.

Seeing how easily Li Sujun and the others jumped down from the roof, this middle-aged man’s face immediately changed. Just dealing with Old Wu alone was difficult enough; now seeing these people land so effortlessly made him realize that none of them were to be underestimated.

"Just who are they And where did all these old monsters come from suddenly" Looking at Li Sujun and the others, this man thought to himself. FundsXiao Yu nodded at Yao Hongbin, accepting his gratitude.
